2003 Season - Week 18

Wildcard Weekend

Two close matches and two dominating performances saw Tennessee, Green Bay, Carolina and Indianapolis progress. In the BUMS we had 2 no shows and you’ve got to feel sorry for Aaron and John who tied with AP and David S respectively but were eliminated on the tie-break rule as Ahman Green was the last player to score and so AP and Stampy are ruled to have the momentum and they go through. The NFL match-ups are listed below in BUMS on Seats but the BUMS Divisional games are as follows. Wayne (1) v Daz (15), Gareth (3) v H (12), AP (4) v Johnny(10) and David S (6) v Marcus (8). The numbers in brackets are the seeding based on regular season points scored. Teams to me by FRIDAY 9pm please. All-BUMS Voting Time to vote for your favourite players of 2003. Attached the top scoring players at each position. As per usual I need in order your top 3 Running Backs and top 3 Receivers plus your number 1 & 2 Quarterbacks, Kickers and Coaches. These should be with me by Monday 26th January so that the votes can be counted and the team can be announced at the BUMS Superbowl Party on Sunday February 1st at BUMS HQ from 10:30pm. Franchise Players 2004-2005 It’s also time for you to decide which player on your roster you intend to sign for another two years at the price you paid him this season. We lose our Franchise Players signed for 2002-03 who are Shaun Alexander (Phil), Marvin Harrison (Cheryl), Aaron Brooks (Aaron), Corey Dillon (Andy H), John Carney (John), Isaac Bruce (Johnny), Adam Vinatieri (David S), Bubba Franks (AP), Priest Holmes (Gareth) and LaDainian Tomlinson (Wayne). Already cut are Dick Jauron (Daz), Kevan Barlow (Mark), Todd Peterson (Marcus), Mike Alstott (Dave G ) & Curtis Martin (Paul). Everyone has to sign a new Franchise player. Again the Top Scorers may help you decide but if not the final rosters sent last week should help. As with the All-BUMS voting this information needs to be with me by Monday 26th January. Big Weeks late in the year After struggling to score earlier in the year we finished with some big weeks helped by AP’s back-to-back staggering scores of 68 and 70 points. We totalled 464 in week 14 (10th best ever) and 507 points in week 15. That averaged 31.69 points per owner the 3rd best ever just 0.86 of a point behind the best ever - a total of 516 points recorded in week 16 of last year. BUMS on Seats It’s time for the Divisional games this weekend. On Saturday night from 9:30pm we are at BUMS HQ to see Carolina @ St Louis. On Sunday at 3pm we will watch the recording of the Tennessee @ New England match-up which is played overnight, followed at 6pm on Sky with Indianapolis @ Kansas City and finally Green Bay @ Philadelphia.
